Mumbai: What could mean even more trouble for former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh became another along with his confidante API Sachin Waze, who was dismissed from duty after his arrest in the Antilla Bombing – Mansukh Hiran Criminal extortion against him registered murder case of the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
The complaint was registered by 48-year-old Bimal Agarwal, a developer and private contractor, who alleged that Waze, in consultation with Singh and others, purchased 8 lakh and two high-end cell phones worth a total of 11.92 lakh between February Blackmailed him from 2020 to March 2021 so that his resto bars in Western Suburbs can function smoothly. Agarwal is a partner of “BOHO” based in Goregaon and “BCB” based on Vira Desai Road in Andheri.
Agarwal claimed in his statement that Param Bir Singh asked Waze to collect Rs 2 crore daily from bar owners and bookmakers in Mumbai. This is the first FIR to mention Param Bir Singh and the discharged policeman Waze together.
In addition to Singh and Waze, Agarwal named Sumit Singh alias Chintu, Alpesh Patel, Vinay Singh and Riyaz Bhati in the FIR registered at the Goregaon police station on Thursday.
In his statement to the police, Agrawal also claimed that Waze would make him recoveries on the 31st. Singh had set himself the goal of collecting Rs 2 crore daily. Waze was also asked to tap into bookmakers and let them work so that money could be collected from them, Agrawal said in his testimony to police.
Based on the complaint, Goregaon Police have recorded a crime under Sections 384, 384 and 34 of the Indian Criminal Code (IPC).
