THREE hospitality companies in Helensburgh and Lomond are in the running for top prizes at a prestigious award ceremony in the industry.

The Spanish tapas and wine bar La Barca on West Clyde Street is in the running for the title of best Mediterranean restaurant at the seventh annual Food Awards Scotland.

Colquhoun’s Restaurant at the Lodge on Loch Lomond Hotel in Luss is also fighting for the Best Scottish Cuisine category.

And the Cardross Inn is in the running – with local rivalry in the form of the Balloch House Hotel on the south end of Loch Lomond – for the Gastro Pub of the Year award for the South West Scotland region.

The three companies reached the final stage in their respective categories after a public vote.
