Toronto’s new Resto Selva takes you deep into a jungle and here’s a first look (PHOTOS)

At this new location in Toronto, you can take a trip into the depths of the jungle.

Selva is the world’s first immersive, multi-sensory resto-bar, which only opened its doors on November 4th. Brought to life by The Fifth (the same people behind the vibrant Patio RendezViews), the venue takes you to another world, and here’s a first look inside.

The space

The venue will make you feel like you’ve stepped through a portal and stepped into a completely different country. As soon as you open the door and walk down the steps to the underground room, you will be greeted with glowing, vibrant floor-to-ceiling murals.

Big cats’ glittering eyes will stare at you from the shadows, colorful birds stretch across the walls, and a trail of lush flowers covers the floor.

The entire room is bathed in a glowing light, which gives it a surreal, extraterrestrial feeling. Flowers and leaf decorations hang from the ceiling and create a jungle atmosphere.

Tables are scattered across the area and painted black so that the focus is on the vibrant murals.

A bar area with seating and a green canopy extends along the wall on the side of the room.

The food

The Selva menu is created by Chef Nuit Regular, known for restaurants such as PAI and Kiin. You can expect to find South American-inspired dishes with vegan, vegetarian, and keto-friendly options.

Ceviche is always a delicious way to start a meal, and Selva has fish, scallops, lobster, and coconut options.

The coconut ceviche is certainly unique and compliments the jungle feel of the room. It oozes with a creamy taste and goes well with the crispy chips.

For main courses, you’ll find dishes like vegetable stew, grilled corn, and taco platters.

The filled shishito peppers have a spicy kick and the grilled chicken is deliciously juicy.

If you have a sweet tooth, don’t miss the dessert. The corn ice cream sounds unusual, but surprisingly tasty and creamy.

The fried banana donuts are another option, and they are served with a sugar-free coconut dipping sauce.

The Silver Frog is a sweeter drink and tastes like a beach vacation with notes of pineapple, coconut and passion fruit.

The Paloma is a great option for tequila fans and its strong flavors make it perfect to sip all evening.
