Pune, May 15, 2022: In the central part of the city of Pune as well as in the suburbs, there have been complaints against many hotels and bars for staying open until the early hours.
By order of Pune City Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta, Pune City Police Social Security Cell (SSC) has cracked down on such hotels and bars for the past four weeks.
According to police officials, after the coronavirus disease (COVID19) pandemic, the new normal lifestyle has started with nightly parties in pubs and the number of hookah parties has increased. Many residents have also complained about loud music playing in the pubs late into the night.
Accordingly, hotels and bars that were open late and longer than the set time were ordered to close at the earliest. Legal action was taken against them for failing to close the facility within the prescribed time limit.
As part of the special operation, the SSC has nine probationary police sub-inspectors and anti-drug cell operatives who have recently joined the police force to take action against hotels, bars and hookah parlors that close late Saturday night were in operation.
This specially organized raid between Saturday night and Sunday morning targeted Waters Bar and Kitchen in the Koregaon Park annex under Mundhwa Police Station, The House Affair under Yerwada Police Station, Rooftop Village and Agent Jacks NIBM Road under Kondhwa Police Station.
