Food and drink tasting at Korean-American resto WEST 32

A new restaurant in the bustling Poblacion neighborhood along Kalayaan Avenue in Makati City brings popular Korean cuisine to the Filipino market.

WEST 32, Brooklyn Industries Group’s newest food and beverage company takes its name and inspiration from Korea-Town Street in New York City Notorious Concepts.

The concept of this Korean-American restaurant was born from the CEO of the Brooklyn Industry Group jeff oh and CEO of Notorious Concepts James Thomas Experience of growing up in the famous street.

The two, who are best friends for life, spent most of their lives as immigrants in America. They described West 32 Street as “the Strip where they felt most comfortable with their Korean heritage in one of America’s greatest cultural and ethnic melting pots, New York City.”

When they came to start a business in the country, they envisioned a place that resonates with “building a home for all who visit.” The result was the WEST 32.

It is set to become the new hotspot for Manila’s hippest personalities.

The restaurant’s design pays homage to the iconic street and carries a trendy interior that complements the dishes and cocktails prepared in a contemporary way.

The restaurant seats 32 people for each round of dinner and drinks. It’s on the first floor of the building that houses Notorious’s bar concept.

For its menu, WEST 32 offers a selection of Korean-American food.


Guests of this restaurant can choose from the following seven appetizers:

  • Corn Chi Jiu Skillet – Yellow corn and tteokbokki in a mozzarella garlic cream cheese sauce
  • Classic Gyeranjjin – Classic Korean Steam Egg
  • Cheesy Gyeranjjin – Classic Korean fried egg topped with melted mozzarella cheese and cheddar cheese
  • Crispy Pajeon – Crispy spring onion pancakes with soy sesame
  • Crab Caviar Gamja Jeon – Crispy potato pancake with crab claw meat in a gochujang aoli ​​and topped with black caviar
  • Fire Chicken n’ Cheese Tteokbokki – Fresh rice cake in a creamy mozzarella cheese sauce, topped with flavorful chicken and crispy onions
  • Rosé Tteokbokki – Fresh rice cake in a mild gochujang cream sauce, topped with melted mozzarella, cheddar cheese and homemade crunchy fishcake


Diners can continue with the main menu, which attempts to satisfy Metro foodie cravings with its crowd-pleasing chicken and beef bulgogi on the list.

Other favorites include West 32 Samgyeopsal, Kimchi Fried Rice with Beef Belly, and Stone Shell Bibimbap.

To round off the evening, guests can enjoy a drink or two from the resto’s menu, which features an all-soju-based cocktail menu.

Currently, the best-selling cocktails of the resto bar are the following:

  • This is the one – A tangy, fruity and refreshing soju-based cocktail made with high-proof soju, strawberrybush and grapefruit soda
  • Korean Negroni – This is a mangosteen-infused soju in the classic Negroni cocktail, reimagined

The Fancy Room at WEST 32 opens Tuesday through Saturday for dinner from 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m

It welcomes walk-in guests subject to tables being available, so all guests are encouraged to make a reservation through the official Facebook or Instagram page before coming to the restaurant.
