TUGUEGARAO CITY—Vice Mayor Matthew Nolasco of Gattaran City, Cagayan Province, and three others have been charged with murder in connection with the killing of a local businessman in December last year.
The Cagayan provincial prosecutor’s office submitted the murder case to the regional court in the city of Aparri on July 13. Details were shared with the media on Wednesday, July 20.
Nolasco and his suspected three cohorts were accused of killing Jefferson Torricer, a 29-year-old dealer at a resto-bar in Barangay Magapit in the town of Lal-lo, also in Cagayan, on December 5 last year.
Nolasco, who was mayor at the time of the murder, allegedly shot Torricer. His cohorts are said to have abused the victim. No deposit was recommended.
